Low Country cooking is where fresh meets slow—bright notes up top, deep comfort underneath. This base brings that same balance: citrus-forward aroma that opens the dish, then simmers down into a rich, soulful finish. You still build the meal—Good South just makes the first step unforgettable. A meal they’ll remember.

Bright Citrus notes lift bold southern spice, giving seafood and stews a zesty, soulful edge.

Frequently asked questions

What is the return policy?

We want every jar to arrive ready to throw down. Because our products are food, all sales are final—but if your order shows up damaged in transit, we’ve got you.

Just email us a photo of the damaged item and we’ll make it right with a full refund or a free replacement, no extra cost. We take care of our people like family—because around here, we’re all in this together.

Are any purchases final sale?

Some items are final sale and can’t be returned—especially food products. Anything that’s not eligible for return will be clearly marked before you purchase so there are no surprises.

When will I get my order?

We don’t sit on orders—we pack and ship as fast as we can, because we want Good South on your stove, not in a warehouse. Once your order ships, you’ll get a tracking email with all the details. Delivery times vary by location and carrier speed.

A few real-world exceptions to know (because life happens):

  • Pre-orders ship on the date listed on the product page.
  • If something is temporarily out of stock, we’ll update you right away with the expected ship timing.
  • If a package is lost in transit (it happens), reach out—we’ll work with the carrier and make it right.

About free shipping: We post free shipping offers periodically when certain order thresholds are met. That helps us ship efficiently and keep costs under control—postage is real, and we pay it too—but we do our best to offer free options whenever we can.

Bottom line: we’ll get it out the door quickly, and if anything goes sideways, we’ll take care of you like family.

Where are your products manufactured?

Right here in the Southeast—Florida and Georgia. We’re proud to keep Good South close to home, working with trusted regional manufacturing partners who meet our standards for quality, consistency, and clean ingredients.

We source and build with intention—because when it’s made in the South, it should taste like it.

Can I freeze it?

Absolutely. We love a smart Southern shortcut. Pour your Cooking Base into silicone ice cube trays, freeze, and you’ve got “Liquid Gold” cubes ready whenever you need deep, layered flavor—fast.

How to do it (easy):

  • Freeze in cubes for quick portions (1 cube = a quick flavor boost)
  • Pop a cube into soups, stews, beans, rice, sauces, or skillet meals
  • Store cubes in a labeled freezer bag so they stay fresh and ready

Pro tip: Let a cube melt into a hot pan with oil/butter first—your kitchen will smell like you’ve been simmering all day.

Is it Gluten Free?

Yes. Good South is gluten-free—so everybody can throw down.

Does it contain MSG?

Nope. No MSG, no artificial anything, and no high fructose corn syrup. If we wouldn’t put it on our family’s table, it’s not going on yours.

How Spicy is it?

We don’t do heat just to show off—we use it to open the flavor, add depth, and make the pot sing.

  • Most Cooking Bases: about a 3/10 heat. You’ll taste a warm cayenne glow straight from the jar, but it mellows into magic as it cooks.
  • Boil Base Pepper Paste: more like a 7/10—it’s concentrated, and a little goes a long way. Start one spoon at a time and you can keep it closer to a 2/10.
  • Seasonings: they pop if you taste them straight, but used as intended they’re pretty mild, especially with a light shake.
How long does the cooking base stay fresh after opening?

Keep it refrigerated after opening. It’s naturally formulated to hold up well (think ketchup-style stability). We recommend enjoying it within about 2 months for best taste and quality—especially as the jar gets low and more air gets in.

(And if you finish it faster than that… you’re doing it right.)

What is the shelf life of the product

24 months unopened.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and order size. We also run free shipping offers when you hit certain order thresholds—so you can stock up efficiently and we can ship smart. When free shipping is live, you’ll see it clearly on the site.

Look good, Cook Good.
